This beginner’s guide introduces the main stages of using Wio, from planning a page to exporting the finished website. Each section links to a focused guide when you want more detail on that task.
1. Plan the page before you build
Begin with the page’s goal, audience, and main message. Gather the text, images, and links it needs before you start arranging the content. For a full project-planning walkthrough, see How to Create a Website with Wio.
- Give the page one clear purpose.
- List the information visitors need to see.
- Collect the images and copy you are ready to use.
2. Create and edit visually
Use the Wio Editor to shape the page visually while keeping its purpose in view. For an introduction to the editor workspace, read Inside the Wio Visual Website Editor.
If you are starting from a template, see how to customize a Wio template.
3. Shape sections and the page as a whole
Wio describes two levels of page composition: Section Spatial focuses on one section, while Pages Spatial focuses on the arrangement of sections across a page. Read the dedicated guides to Section Spatial and Pages Spatial for more detail.
As you build, consider how each section connects to the next. Keep related information together, give important content room to stand out, and remove anything that distracts from the page’s purpose.
4. Preview and refine the experience
Before exporting, review the page from a visitor’s point of view. Check the content order, readability, links, and display at different screen sizes. Use the preview checklist to check the details.
5. Export your website and choose where to host it
When your website is ready, export it from Wio and choose a hosting provider that fits your needs. Hosting is separate from Wio. Follow the export guide for the publishing handoff.
